Malaysia Vasudevan passes away

The rapport Malaysia Vasudevan shared with many in the Tamil film industry was evident on Sunday, when they were present at his residence in Chennai on Sunday, to pay their last respects to the celebrated singer-actor who passed away earlier in the day.

Kamal Haasan, who was visibly upset, said, “He has been my friend, my voice and co-actor for many years. He was ill for a long time and I had recently gone with SPB to meet him.”

Music composer Deva, who had used Vasudevan’s voice for several films, said, “His was a solid voice which emoted in a beautiful way. The Tamil music industry will sure miss him a lot.”

AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa condoled Vasudevan’s death and recalled that he had sung around 8000 songs. “His demise is a big loss to the Tamil cinema industry,” she said and expressed her condolences to the bereaved family members.
