Drona

Creating music for a film like Drona is always a tricky preposition. A conventional soundtrack isn't really what the film warrants while boundaries have to be set around how unconventional can the music actually go.This is why one carefully looks at what composer Dhruv Ghanekar (who was a part of the composer duo Ashu-Dhruv) has to offer in Drona which is Abhishek's first solo release since Guru.Surprisingly, unlike some huge expectations that one had from recent biggies like Singh Is Kinng, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Karzzzz, Drona (which has lyrics by Vaibhav Modi) is relatively low key in nature. One can't exclaim 'I have been waiting with a bated breath' for the music of Drona which has just hit the stands. And this is what turns Drona into a fairly okay score which is certainly not exceptional but not a bad hear either. The anthem track 'Drona' (sung by Dhruv himself) opens up proceedings and it has the kind of sound which just fits in well with the theme of t

Shah Rukh doesn't want to over expose himself

Rajnikanth starrer Tamil film Kuselan's flopping has definitely affected Shah Rukh Khan. Not to take any chances, he has decided to push ahead his produced film, Billoo Barber (based on the same Malayalam film that Kuselan was) to February 2009.Sources tell us, "Billoo Barber was confirmed for a Diwali 2008 release but its now going to come anytime between January end to mid February. There are two songs to be shot and also there are some scenes that are being re-shot.This re-shooting is being especially done to avoid mistakes that Kuselan had. The film was not well received by even the most ardent of Rajnikanth fans. SRK doesn't want the same to happen to his film. He is also making sure the length of his film is not very long like Kuselan (180 minutes) was.""One more reason for the postponement is that Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi directed by Aditya Chopra is slated for a December 12th release. SRK doesn't want to bring both his films almost together and end up over

Imran Khan goes tough in Luck

After Kidnap it is once again action time for Imran Khan in Soham Shah (Kaal) directed Luck. The young star is back from shooting Luck in Cape Town after a very long schedule.According to our sources, "Imran has a lot of fighting sequences in the film and most of it includes martial arts. He was assigned a special trainer for the same before leaving for the long schedule of Luck. But as he got busy promoting Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na after it released to packed houses, he had little time on his hands to give it to his martial arts training sessions. Imran landed in Cape Town without proper training. But the makers had already arranged a special trainer for him on his arrival. So Imran spent a lot of hours daily practicing martial arts to bring perfection for his action steps. He also worked out a lot on his physique for his role in this particular film. It is learnt that the next schedule of Luck is going to take place in December but so fascinated has Imran been with his martial arts tr

Market rates fluctuate. My price will be decided when the film is being sold. Who knows what the market will be like then?"

When Salman took Preity Zinta for a ride

The promos of the multi-starrer film, Heroes have begun flashing on every channel and one can see Preity Zinta driving a tractor in one shot. Not many are aware that Preity was petrified of driving that tractor when that sequence was to be shot.A source informed, "Preity's character in the film is of Salman's wife who is shown as a simple farmer who later goes on to join the army. She features in a no make-up look in the film. It was very important for her character to be shown driving the tractor easily as it would lead authenticity to her character. But the problem was she was simply not ready to do that. The director of the film, Samir Karnik kept on insisting, while she kept on putting her foot down. Until, Salman came to know about it. Salman then came upto her and assured her that in just two days he would train her well to drive the tractor perfectly.Preity agreed and then actually in two days time, she was driving the tractor in the Punjab fields like a pro!"How

There is no cold war going on with Katrina Kaif

Malaika and Arbaaz's little son Arhaan seems to have taken after his Chachu Salman. The 4-year old boy has quite a crush on Katrina Kaif.Far from sharing cold vibes with her brother-in-law Salman Khan's friend Katrina, Malaika Arora actually has a very close and indelible bonding with the boxoffice's wunder-babe."My 4-year old son Arhaan has the most incurable crush on Katrina. Whenever she's around I become completely unimportant to my son. It's a family joke…that Arhaan is smitten by Katrina. Every time Katrina and I speak she wants to know where Arhaan is so she could take him out."Not just Katrina, Kareena too is a favourite with Arhaan. "When Arbaaz and I visited Kareena's location in Hollywood last month Arhaan became a total lamb. I ceased to exist. Everything was about Kareena only. And I was shocked when my boy who gives me a hard time feeding him would ask for everything that Kareena ordered at restaurants and eat quietly without taking hi

Hello

Phoonk - A film on black magic, Hit. Rock On - A film on rock music, Hit. A Wednesday - A film on terrorism, Critically acclaimed and all set to be a box office success. It couldn't have been a better time for unconventional films to arrive at theaters. With audience more than happy to grab anything which seems different from the rest and sounds promising, these are exciting times for Bollywood. This is when arrives Hello, a film which again has an unconventional setting, considering its call center backdrop. Though the film has been delayed for close to a year, it seems to be just the right timing for a film like this to be hitting the screens.Since the film has Salman Khan in a special appearance, his favorite composers Sajid-Wajid along with lyricist Jalees Sherwani get the soundtrack in place. The opening track 'Hello' begins with the beep sound making way for Calypso beats to follow. Suzy Q, who has recently impressed with 'Hey Ya' in Kidnap, is roped in by Sajid-
