Among the host of new jodis that are set to light up the silver screen, the Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone one is the best. In our new poll we had asked them to vote on the next hottest jodi and the options included the pairings of Imran Khan-Katrina Kaif (in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan), Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh (Band Baaja Baarat), Abhishek Bachchan-Deepika Padukone (Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se) and Imran-Deepika (Break Ke Baad). The Imran-Kat and Imran-Deepika jodis were neck-to-neck throughout the poll but the latter jodi eventually overtook the former one, grabbing 47 percent of the total 2821 votes. With the buzz around Break Ke Baad building up fast, the Imran-Deeps jodi topped the poll while Imran-Kat came a close second with 44 percent votes for their film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. The Abhishek-Deepika jodi came third with only 5 percent votes. The promos of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se might be promising, but the Abhi-Deeps jodi certainly doesn’t...

So it’s official. Invitations are being sent to close family friends for Imran Khan’s marriage to Avantika Malik.The actor will tie the knot with his fiancee on January 8 next year at Karjat where the Maliks have a farmhouse. The couple was engaged at the same location on January 15 this year. Says a source, “Though the wedding is two months away, preparations are in full swing. Close friends on the guest list were sent SMSes and told over the phone to keep themselves free on January 8 from 5 pm to 5am. The message stated that a formal invite and the wedding card would follow later.” The invitations were sent out on Diwali. “Diwali is considered an auspicious time to start inviting for marriages,” the source says. “The Maliks are planning a dusk to dawn bash for the wedding.” Aamir Khan’s celebrity nephew’s engagement began with a brunch followed by the ceremony and dinner in the evening. Bollywood actor Imran Khan has finally bagged his first film under the Yash Raj banner and will be seen romancing actress Katrina Kaif in the yet-to-be-titled film. The film, a romantic comedy, is written and directed by debutant Ali Abbas Zafar and will be produced by Aditya Chopra. It is scheduled for a 2011 release and will go on the floor mid-September. This is the first time Imran and Katrina will be seen sharing screen space.

Produced by Dhilin Mehta & Directed by Soham Shah, the film marks the debut of Shruti Haasan (Kamal Hassan’s daughter) and stars Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan, Mithun Chakraborthy, Ravi Kishaan, Chitrashi Rawat and Danny Denzongpa. Imran Khan will soon be in London with Sanjay Dutt and Shruti Hassan to promote the film and he plans to personally meet his fans in London. Imran will be with them on 11th July 2009 when he visits Cineworld Ilford and Cineworld Feltham.
