Vivek Oberoi is very nervous

Vivek Oberoi is bubbling with excitement these days. He’s got a lot coming up in the days ahead - a movie release and a wedding. Vivek is busy with the promotion of his upcoming film Rakta Charita. The movie will release on October 22, just a week ahead of his wedding to Bangalore’s Priyanka Alva. So how is Vivek feeling in the run-up to his wedding and the film’s release? “I am excited about my marriage and nervous about my film,” said Vivek who was in Bangalore to participate in an awards press meet and promote the film. Upon his arrival in the city, Vivek was referred to as the son-in-law of Karnataka. “Today I was referred to as Karnatak-ka-damad, instead of the usual terms like actor or hero when I arrived,” said Vivek who is set to marry on October 29. However, after the wedding, Vivek and Priyanka won’t head to honeymoon straightaway. Vivek will be busy with the promotions of Rakta Charitra and honeymoon will have to wait till November.

Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan joined hands once again

Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan shared a terrific screen chemistry in the film ‘Paa’ where they played the role of a mother and son. And while that film went on to give ‘Auro’ his national award, the buzz is out that Vidya and Amitabh are teaming up again. And yet again, they are not playing the romantic pair (which is surprising given that Amitabh has romanced younger lots like Tabu and Jiah Khan in ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Nishabd’ respectively). Well! Renowned Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh is all geared up to bring on celluloid the tale of Kabulliwallah penned by the Noble Award winner Rabindranath Tagore. Amitabh shall play the protagonist Kabulliwallah who woos the young girl Mini with his baadam pistas and akhroths. Vidya shall play the grow-up avatar of Mini. Vidya Balan is pretty gung ho about this project as Kabulliwallah is one of her fav stories. Vidya often wonders what may have happened to the character of Mini post her marriage. This is, surely, a touching, moving tale of an

Action Replay is a time-travel comedy movie: Director Vipul

Akshay will be driving an Impala, and the two of them will be interacting with their fans and educating them on the art of wooing a girl while on a drive. Akshay has been seen in a retro avatar over the last month to promote his upcoming flick Action Replayy and this drive is the latest marketing strategy for the film. The idea for the drive was conceived jointly by Akshay, Aishwarya and producer Vipul Shah as they felt that this would appeal to the audiences the most. While speaking to the media, Vipul said “We felt that the charm of retro can’t be conveyed convincingly in mere words or visuals. It would make a bigger impact if we show it to the people. Vipul has his eyes set on a bright red convertible Dodge Impala for the promotional event as it will add to the impact, “In our film, I also used an open convertible Dodge Impala in bright red. So we just might bring it back as its colour will add significantly to the overall impact of Akshay and Aishwarya’s drive,” added Vipul. Vipul

It is challenging to shift from the character another: Deepika

Deepika Padukone will be seen in two back-to-back films - as the free-spirited Aaliya in one and as the intense Kalpana in the other. The actress revealed that shifting roles was quite challenging for her. “I did ‘Break Ke Baad’ and ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ immediately one after the other. So I think it was very challenging for me in terms of my mind space to shift from the character in a romantic modern-day love story to the one in a period film,” Deepika said in an interview here at Turner Road. “Break Ke Baad”, also starring Imran Khan, has been directed by Danish Aslam and produced by Kunal Kohli. It is the love story of a young couple who break up and try to come back together and will hit the screens Nov 26. “Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey”, helmed by Ashutish Gowarikar, is a period film set in the Chittagong of British India. It revolves around a series of attacks that took place on a single night April 18, 1930, and its aftermath. The film, based on Manini Chatterjee’s book, stars
