Many celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Karisma Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Kunal Kapoor, Imran Khan, Avantika and others attended it. However, Katrina Kaif’s absence raised the eyebrows of many, as speculations of their split have been rife of late.Special screening of Dabangg was held for its unit, and Katrina was also invited. However, the actress could not make it, as she was busy shooting with Akshay Kumar for Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan at Film City. Produced by Arbaaz Khan and directed by Abhinav Kashyap, Dabangg features Salman and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. It is scheduled for release this Friday, September 10.

According to sources, the actress who hails from the island nation of Sri Lanka, will make her debut with the most handsome hero of the south - Ajith Kumar, in his upcoming gangster film, Mankatha. The movie, directed by Venkat Prabhu, also features Nagarjuna in an important role with grey shades. Reportedly, the film is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, with Jacqueline playing the female lead in both Tamil and Telugu versions. Talks are still on with her. Actor Manchu Manoj will share screen space with the two lead actors. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music and Shakthi Saravanan is behind the camera.
