Shah Rukh Khan helped his old Friend

Shah Rukh is known to be a loyal friend and quietly does his bit to help his friends out whenever they need him. Not many know about the friendship between SRK and the talented actor Makarand Deshpande. Both these actors go back a long way - to their struggling days together. They had worked together in the famous TV show Circus in the late 80s and have always kept in touch. So, when Makarand approached SRK for a small cameo in his film Shah Rukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu, he readily agreed. A friend of Makarand’s said, “If SRK had refused, the film would never have been made. The film has an important sequence where a street girl selling flowers meets Shah Rukh at a traffic light and he tells her that she is beautiful. This statement changes her life. Shah Rukh not only called Makarand to say that he would shoot for the film but also shot inside his Bandra residence Mannat in his own car. Katrina plays a very self-willed and stubborn character

Katrina is busy preparing for the most challenging role she has taken up till date. She will be playing a temperamental talkative busybody in debutant Ali Abbas Zafar’s next. The beautiful lady is currently acting in a Zoya Akhtar film with Hrithik Roshan and is anxiously awaiting the release of Farah Khan’s ’Tees Maar Khan’. In the Ali Abbas Zafar film, titled ’Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, Kat plays a very self-willed and stubborn character, something which is very opposite to the gentle person that she is. He costars in the lead are Imran Khan and singer Ali Zafar. Aditya Chopra is the producer. Katrina says that compared to this, her character in ’Namastey London’ was a cakewalk for her. The Ali Zafar film has thrown up a huge challenge for her. She is observing someone to copy her mannersims for the character, but she says she won’t reveal who that person is.

Salman eyes are affected

The macho Salman Khan can boast of more than what meets the eye. Well, literally, figuratively, every which way. After a month of nursing an eye infection, SK is all set to resume filming for Anees Bazmee’s ‘Ready.’ He’d made a recent appearance at the ‘Being Human’ show sporting sunglasses fanning rumours that he’d opted for a blepharoplasty… a cosmetic surgery procedure to remove the “bags under the eyes” that had him all red eyed. Word has it that the October schedule of ‘Ready’ went for a toss, owing to Salman’s sudden eye injury. Reportedly, SK has nodded assent to filming for ‘Ready’ in mid November. It seems Freida Pinto is in no mood to give inside details about her relationship with boyfriend Dev Patel. Pinto, 26, refused to confirm whether she and Patel are engaged. "Dev had such a problem trying to tell people that was not true," UsMagazine.com quoted her as telling BlackBook. "I’ve decided not to answer stupidity with more stupidity," she added.

Cold war between Vidya Balan and Rani Mukherji

Superstar Aamir Khan says his forthcoming film “Dhobi Ghat”, which is his wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut, may not be liked by the masses. “I fear that masses may not like ‘Dhobi Ghat’ because it is a very fine and delicate film. People who understand film, people who are sensitive - this film is for them. This is not a mainstream film,” said Aamir. “Dhobi Ghat” tells the tale of how people from different classes drawn together in compelling relationships. Shai (Monica Dogra), an affluent investment banker on a sabbatical, strikes up an unusual friendship with young laundry boy Munna (Prateik Babbar), and has a brief dalliance with painter Arun (Aamir Khan). As they slip away from familiar moorings and come closer, the city finds its way into the crevices of their inner worlds.
