Shah Rukh is known to be a loyal friend and quietly does his bit to help his friends out whenever they need him. Not many know about the friendship between SRK and the talented actor Makarand Deshpande. Both these actors go back a long way - to their struggling days together. They had worked together in the famous TV show Circus in the late 80s and have always kept in touch. So, when Makarand approached SRK for a small cameo in his film Shah Rukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu, he readily agreed.
A friend of Makarand’s said, “If SRK had refused, the film would never have been made. The film has an important sequence where a street girl selling flowers meets Shah Rukh at a traffic light and he tells her that she is beautiful. This statement changes her life. Shah Rukh not only called Makarand to say that he would shoot for the film but also shot inside his Bandra residence Mannat in his own car. He also wanted to be present for the music release but could not, as he is shooting in Berlin for Don 2. However, he called Makarand to wish him on the release. SRK plans to watch the film on his return from Berlin.”
