Mallika Sherawat, known to charge anything from Rs.1-Rs.1.5 crore in Bollywood, has signed on the dotted line for the ’Dhamaal’ sequel without discussing her fee with producer Ashok Thakeria. ’Mallika said she will take anything we give her. She’s just happy to be part of a brand like ’Dhamaal’ and that too opposite Sanjay Dutt,’ said Thakeria. Part two is titled ’Double Dhamaal’ and it will be directed by Indra Kumar. It seems after reaching a dead end with her career in Bollywood and with her purported global re-re-re-launch in ’Hisss’ showing no sign of release, Mallika is delighted at being accepted back in Hindi movies. The show conceptualized by Imagine TV will be dealing with social issues, with out any legal involvements in it. Murder, robbery, drugs or extra-marital affairs - whatever the problems, item girl Rakhi Sawant - who has a knack for getting into controversies - will now be seen solving problems on ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’. Talking about the show and on choosing Rakhi Sawant to be an integral part of it, the producer of the show Moti Sagar says, “I always wanted a girl to be a part of this show, one who has faced the problems in reality. In my opinion, who has been through hard time, is the one who can do justice to the people who come on the show, and nobody fits the bill perfectly other than Rakhi.” Rakhi commented

Lafangey Parindey starred by Neil Nithin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone, has failed to make it’s presence felt at the box office. According to sources, the opening day’s collection was approximately Rs35 million (Rs3.5 crore) across India and the weekend’s net collections is around Rs.100 million. The movie ran to an average 30-35% occupancy across theaters during the opening weekend. Both Deepika and Neil have won appreciation for their performances in the movie. Shahrukh Khan was generous in his complements on twitter, saying “saw lafangey parindey last nite…deepika has acted really well & so has neil nitin…best of luck to pradeepda for his film.” Aamir Khan Productions’ Peepli Live continues it’s dream run. Mahesh Manjrekar is all set to remake his super hit Marathi film, Shikshanacha Aai Cha Go, with Salman Khan and Kangna Ranaut. Salman Khan decided to make the film and his company, Being Human, will be the producer . However, according to a source, things are not going so well. “The film was to go on the floors in August as Salman is not shooting for any film at present. But, the film did not take off. The official reason for the delay is that Salman is busy with the promotions of Dabangg. But the fact is that people have asked Salman to reconsider the project as it might not be a commercially viable one, especially since it deals with the education system in Maharashtra. While the film might have done wonders in Marathi, it needs to have a universal appeal like 3 Idiots had.
