As fans continue to line up to watch Rajinikanth’s latest film Endhiran, the movie is smashing all box office records and writing history. Making a film with a 60-year-old star and a whopping budget of Rs 160 crore did seem like a big gamble. But director Shankar has silenced all detractors, as the movie Endhiran shows no sign of slowing down at the box office down south. According to a trade analyst, the Tamil movie (and its Hindi version Robot) has raked in a collection between Rs. 200 to 225 crores in just two weeks since its release on October 1. No other film in the history of Indian cinema has made so much money in just two weeks. Going by the figures, Endhiran has collected Rs. 150 crores from Tamil Nadu only. Its collection from other south centres is close to Rs. 50 crore. And the earning of Robot (Hindi) stands close to Rs. 15 crore. That’s not the end of it, as the film is likely to continue its good run in the weeks ahead.

Box office collections notwithstanding, “Anjaana Anjaani” is certainly on a roll. The two suicidal protagonists in the rom-com who meet when they are on the verge of suicide are about to take a plunge in another direction. The protagonists played by Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra will now feature in a series of comic books describing the adventures of their characters Akash and Kiera. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has spoken to a leading publishing house which enthusiastically agreed to the idea. The first graphics have already been prepared and if all goes well the inaugural comic based on Ranbir and Priyanka’s characters in “Anjaana Anjaani” will hit the stands for Diwali. That’s right. Kiera (Priyanka Chopra) and Akash (Ranbir Kapoor), the losers in love and business, respectively, are now being relocated from the screen into print and on the internet as comic book characters. Ace choreographer Saroj Khan, who has made actresses like Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan dance to her tunes, has actress Vidya Balan on her wishlist now. “I want to make Vidya Balan dance. I like her expressions. I remember seeing her in ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, her expressions in the song ‘Pal Pal’ were extremely good,” Saroj told reporters via video conferencing here. After a successful first season of “Nachle Ve With Saroj Khan”, she is once again returning to the small screen with second season and this time choreographer Terence Lewis will be joining her. Both the choreographers will be teaching their unique style of dancing to popular television celebrities. The line-up includes Neha Marda, Naman Shaw, Shaleen Bhanot, and Jay Bhanushali among others. All the celebrities will be competing with each other every week and then ultimately battle it out in the grand finale.
