Deol is natural Actor: Kalki Koechlin

Dev D fame actress Kalki Koechlin, who is sharing screen space with Abhay Deol again in Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, feels her co-star is quite natural in front of the camera.

"It was nice working with Abhay again. We are used to working with each other so now we know what each other does best so we help each other out. He is a very natural actor and that’s the best thing about him," Kalki said.

The 27-year-old Indian actress of French descent starred opposite Abhay in director Anurag Kashyap’s critically acclaimed 2009 Hindi film Dev D, a modern take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Bengali novel "Devdas". While Kalki played Chandramukhi, Abhay featured as Devdas.

In director Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, Kalki worked with a female director for the first time and says it turned out to be great fun.

"It was superb working with Zoya Akhtar. It’s so much fun because she is so down to earth and also listens to girls," quipped the actress, who was here with beau Kashyap for the launch of the talent portal Tumbhi.

When asked what role is she playing in Tumbhi, Kalki said: "Absolutely nothing. I’m just a loyal girlfriend. I showed up because Anurag asked me to. It’s a good concept.

"At the end of the day everything in this industry happens through connections so talented people who are new to the city have to find someone who has some connection with the film industry."

She feels the portal will work as a bridge between wannabes and the film industry.

"It’s so hard for someone new to survive in this industry. When I was new here, it was so hard. I was clueless. I didn’t know what was going on. I used to sit at Prithvi Theatre every day finding out things and there was no set way of doing it.

"This portal just makes it easier. For any artist it is useful. It is economical, you can just upload stuff from your home. It is very practical," said Kalki.

Salman khan Also stands isolated as SRK-Bachchans cosy up

By Summaiyah Wahab Khan Shah Rukh Khan's presence at the Drona premiere should surprise no one. Ever since the open squabble with Salman Khan both the Khans have been drawing themselves closer to the Bachchans, trying hard to show their solidarity to the Bachchan family in every way possible."And there was no way Shah Rukh was not going to be invited to the Drona premiere. Whether Salman would've come on knowing of Shah Rukh being invited, is irrelevant. Salman was not invited. He may openly express his fondness for Abhishek. But it's not that easy for anyone to forget his past behaviour with Aishwarya. Also he isn't exactly a chum of Drona's heroine Priyanka Chopra either, " says a source close to the Bachchans. In fact everyone from the gregarious Karan Johar to the ultra-reclusive Sanjay Leela Bhansali to the hardly-ever-seen Sushmita Sen showed up for this, the most crucial release. And why not? The Bachchans personally invited all their guests. Aishwarya...

Another Try for a Windows Phone, but It’s Still Clunky

If you’ve never heard of a Windows Mobile phone, or never particularly cared what kind of software runs on your phone, prepare yourself. In the coming months, Microsoft will release a steady drumbeat of ads intended to make you want a device powered by its software. Related Should you care? Probably. Should you make a Windows phone your priority? Not necessarily. If you already have a phone that runs Windows Mobile and want to upgrade, the new 6.5 version will improve your life slightly. Otherwise, other mobile phones are probably a better bet. Windows phones have been around for years, mostly competing with BlackBerrys for the allegiance of business users. But while BlackBerry crossed over into the consumer realm with more user-friendly phones, Windows Mobile remained in its corporate cube, because of devices that could be so frustrating to use that few people would choose one without a corporate mandate. For much of the last year, Microsoft has been saying that its ...
