Soha Ali Khan Biography

Soha Ali Khan was born on October 4, 1978 in Mumbai, India, into one of the most famous families of India the popularly known as ‘the family of Nawabs’. Her father is ‘Tiger Padaudi’ the celebrated international cricketer, her mother Sharmila Tagore the famous actress of the 60’s and 70’s and of course her brother is the Bollywood sensation Master Saif Ali Khan. She studied History at Balliol College, Oxford University and has a Masters in International Relations from the London School of Economics.

She always knew that she was meant to be a Bollywood actress, but she decided to finish her studies before joining Bollywood as she knew once she embarked upon the journey of Bollywood returning to studies would be very difficult.

Soha was not lucky enough to make a smashing debut and her first Bollywood appearance Dil Maange More was a flop. Her acting skills were also criticized and Soha failed to make an impression on the audience. She soon silenced her critics with her her performance in the Bengali film Antar Mahal. Soha really came into the limelight with her appearance in the multi-starred super hit film Rand De Basanti where she got the opportunity to work with the likes of Aamir Khan. Soha’s performance in the film was also crirically acclaimed and she won the prestigious IIFA Best Supporting Actress Award. Soha would soon be appearing in the much awaited film Khoya Khoya Chand followed by Mumbai Meri Jaan and Airport.

Soha has been brought up in liberal way. She was given the freedom to travel where she wants to, have the friends she wants and take her own decisions. She was quite a hyperactive and a very friendly child. Soha was never a person who could be kept cooped up at one place and was always moving around, but she never bothered about her appearance. She didn't wear too much jewellery nor was very colour coordinated. She had also worked with Citibank and an NGO to get experience which would help her when she finally starts acting.
