Anoushka Shankar features on July Cosmopolitan 2009



Anoushka Shankar, the daughter of the Indian Sitar player, Ravi Shankar, and Sukanya Rajan, a bank employee, has already carved her niche for her versatile talents as a writer, actor, composer and sitarist. She is the youngest and the only woman to receive House of Commons shield from British Parliament. She had her first solo recording to her credit at the young age of 17 with her own name ‘Anoushka’. She also became the youngest nominee for the Grammy Award in the Best World Music Album Category. She has also acted in a film named, ‘Dance Like a Man’, for which she was nominated as the best supporting actress in National Film Awards in the year 2003.
This time Anoushka creates stir again as she looks gorgeous on the cover of the July issue of Cosmopolitan India attired in a pink Cue by Rahul Khanna and Rohit Gandhi. Must say, the girl is a unique blend of talent, attitude and beauty!
