Born and raised in Kurichi, Real name Namita M Vankawala, studied at Ratnam Arts College, Surat. Punjabi-speaking Namitha is another actress in the long list of heroines who made it in Telugu and Tamil movies. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a housewife. She became popular after acting in the Tamil film Engal Anna with Vijayakanth.
