Just a few days back Mumbai Mirror had reported about a remake of the yesteryears' musical hit, Abhimaan was going to be made with Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai in the lead.It was to be directed by cinematographer turned adfilmmaker and now filmmaker Rajeev Menon (of 'Sapnay' fame). But now there are very grim chances that Menon will be able to make this film as the original producer, Pawan Kumar has refused to part with its remake rights.Speaking to us, Pawan ji said, "I was surprised with the news that was carried in the tabloid. I was never approached by Rajeev Menon for any such remake of my film. Atleast the reporter who had carried this news should have tried to confirm it with me.I have no plans to sell the rights of my film. I am in fact planning to make the film myself. I have started my work on creating a set up for the same. I am sure the remake will work even in today's times because the subject of the film is relevant even today. In big cities like Mumbai, in most of homes, both husband and wife are working in the same field today. If the wife starts earning more, problems are arising in the households. 'Abhimaan' had great music and good music works wonders for films in today's times.I have not approached any big star right now because the script of this remake is being worked upon."
